Absolutely! Our in-house design team are experts in their field and can create the blueprints necessary from third-party plans. We’ve been known to work magic even with napkin sketches and turn them into actual building components or custom dream homes.

Unless you’re an owner builder the answer is, yes. We work with you on the design and give you the blueprints, a builder will need to put in the foundation and stand your home package. The plumbing, mechanical, electrical, flooring, and interior finishing are required through sub-trades or a general contractor. Let us know if you need help finding resources when you complete your request form.

You bet! Check with your local building authority before beginning any new construction. We can tell that your home will be built to meet or exceed the National Building Code of Canada for your area.

Modular homes fall under the prefab umbrella because they too are built in a factory setting but are prefinished separate sections that join together to form a whole. The Winton Homes & Cottages approach is panelized or factory-framed prefab home packages. Once the components are built in our climate-controlled factory, we lay them flat and stack them in construction order on a flatbed truck.

Instead of pre-built/pre-finished sections arriving on site, your components arrive with full structural integrity because they haven’t had to endure transportation the same way as modular. Customers have more control over how the home goes together and how the home is finished on the inside. These factors often contribute to appreciating resale value.

Sorry, no we don't. Foundation options are something you will want to discuss with your contractor and local building authority. We can offer advice and point you in the right direction.

Yes! 

You or your contractor are responsible for making arrangements. We recommend between 4-6 strong, able-bodied people and equipment like a crane, hiab, forklift with 8 ft. fork extensions, or a zoom-boom capable of lifting 5,000 lbs.

Depending on the skill, how many people you have to help, and the complexity of the home package, unloading can take anywhere from 2 hrs. - 5 hrs. Your Coordinator can offer recommendations based on your project size. 

It depends on the size of your home and how much time you as the owner builder or your builder can dedicate to the project. A general timeline to reach a weather-tight lock-up structure ranges from a few weeks to a few months. Some people can get it done in as little as a few days. The interior finishing will depend on the sub-trade's schedules.
